Hello, hello, hello everybody, Welcome to your English lesson. Today we are going to be doing a lesson on modals. one big difference as you can see in the picture above is how to use should and must in the picture below. so the big difference is very obvious colon should is a suggestion, it would be a good idea, however, have to or must is an obligation it means we don't have any choice or that there is a strong need.


Very often it is common to use must in more formal English for example when there are rules and regulations.


  In the case of should we can also use ought to which means the same thing. However, in British English you can use oughtn’t or ought not but in North American English it is not common.


For more advanced learners, should and must and other modals have a different meaning when they are used in the past as you can see in the pictures above
